This vacuum uses a shake out dump bag with no paper bag liner and does not meet the clean air requirements for most government buildings.Can be converted to use F&G paper bags by replacing the outer bag system.The SC684 is designed for vacuuming carpet only.The hood is plastic, the handle and bottom plate (brush cover) are metal.
